Bubble

Online Comic Book Corner 📚

Bubble is one of the most potent apps to track and manage a comic book collection. In early 2019, the team decided it was time to connect their app to an eCommerce platform to attract new customers and increase their sales. I was contacted to come up with a meaningful strategy, targeting both comic book readers and users who only shop for relatives. Based on the app customer feedback, we decided to implement new powerful features (wishlist, product notification, public profiles, and so on) and enhance the collection management tool. We also redesigned the old blog to retain customers looking for comic books news. Working hand in hand with the development team, I designed the entire website — from high-fidelity wireframes to modern mockups and marketing assets (App and Play Store, social networks, among others).

Desktop Wireframes
Base on an engaging content strategy and the existing mobile app, more than 60 high-fidelity wireframes were designed (mobile and desktop).
Mobile Wireframes
I also designed a few mobile wireframes (homepage, product listing and product page). The goal was to give the dev team the big picture as they wanted to deal with the mobile version themselves.
Homepage and Landing Page
We designed an engaging homepage with both top categories/series and editorial content related to the blog. We also conceived a compatibility test suggesting comic books based on users' interests to enhance our personalized customer service. As Bubble also has a premium version, we crafted a landing page to promote its advantages.
Product Listing
Listing pages enhance top-rated series and allow users to discover new albums. On single serie pages, we created both a grid and a table listing, with different features (shop/collect) to attract our 2 different targets (customers and consumers).
Product Page
We designed a clear shopping area, with both delivery and store pick-up options. We also put a lot of effort into displaying a readable and comprehensive product description, with lots of tags and internal links to boost our SEO ranking.
Checkout Process
We redesigned the original app checkout and decided to use a single page with multiple steps, to collect data and analyze users' behaviour through the entire process. In addition to the registered user checkout, we implemented a guest checkout to shorten the funnel for non-consumers buyers. We also made sure it was possible for users to switch devices (desktop/mobile/app) without losing their cart.
Profile and Collection
For profile and collection pages, we got our inspiration from top social networks such as Twitter and Instagram, but also from streaming platforms such as Netflix. The goal was to offer both a grid view to browse by comic book covers, and a table view to quickly manage albums. We also reviewed the stats layout and created new custom icons.
