I’m a valuable design partner for ambitious brands
—with French wit and Montreal chill.

Expertise, personality, and the rare ability to tell you when your idea is bad. Kindly, but clearly.
Laura Geley – Senior Product DesignerLaura Geley – Senior Product Designer

I've earned my stripes in fast-paced agencies between Paris and Montreal before in 2017. Since then, I’ve collaborated with dozens of amazing founders and companies around the globe. It’s been a journey full of time zone jumps and power naps—no doubt, but it's been incredibly rewarding.

Additionally, I contribute to the design community by reviewing the most creative websites for the Awwwards jury and publishing 10-min reads like"UX and the Importance of Web Accessibility” and “Hotjar: UX and Conversion Tips”. Not holding my breath for a Pulitzer though.

From 2018 to 2024, I also taught at Université de Rennes 1 in France, leading courses like “eCommerce Best Practices” and “Figma 101: It’s All Fun and Games Until Someone Detaches an Instance.” Proud to say not a single student died of boredom.

When I’m not working, I’m usually either surfing or stopping my dog from demolishing my kids’ sandcastles. Sometimes the other way around.

(What sets me apart)

I've been in this industry for 15 years, so believe me when I say I've seen it all
—the good and the bad.

Here’s my promise to you: I’m not your average designer.

(Manifesto)

Big on results,light on ego.

01 I focus on outcomes, not deliverables.

I prioritize research, strategy, and content before jumping to solutions in Figma. I start by asking the right questions and challenging ideas, to eventually craft a product that’s not just good-looking but actually solves real problems and drives business impact.

02 I know when to push and when to listen.

I’m as French as it gets—I love a good debate. But I’ve learned the Quebec art of consensus, which means I also know when to step back and take in feedback. Great products don’t come from saying yes to everything or top-down decisions, but from healthy discussions and smart iterations.

03 I design high-quality mockups.

I only take on a few projects each year and each one gets the care it deserves. No half-baked mockups filled with placeholders, no $50 templates with your logo slapped on, and no outsourcing to junior designers. Just my best work and full attention.

04 I’m exceptionally fast.

I’ve spent 7 years living the thrilling lifestyle of advertising agencies, with unrealistic deadlines, demanding clients and never enough time—so I know a thing or two about fast turnarounds. I am incredibly organized, proactive and quick to deliver on-point designs.

05 I make developers love me.

I believe in collaboration over silos. I insist on working closely with technical teams to review specifications, spot complexities early, and deliver dev-friendly Figma files designed down to the smallest component.

06 I’m here for the long haul.

I’m not vanishing mid-project or after launch. First, I have to fund my kids’ magical ability to outgrow their clothes overnight. Second, you’ll need a designer again when your next big challenge shows up, someone you can trust, who gets your product and your users. I’ll be right here, ready to jump back in.

(Let's work together)

What’s your challenge?

I'm building a product from scratch or need an MVP fast.

Whether it's a full 0→1 mission or a prototype, I shape your vision into something that makes sense for users, holds up in real conditions, and makes investors say "wow."

My product works, but not well enough.

Something's off: drop-offs, frustration, tickets piling up. You have hunches. I connect the dots, prioritize what matters, and set up a rhythm to keep improving.

I need to uncover and fix what’s not working.

You don't know exactly what's broken, only that something is. I run a structured audit, surface the real problems, and deliver a prioritized action plan.

I'm scaling and I need the UX to keep up.

New markets, new features, new users: I help you grow without losing coherence, so your product doesn't become a patchwork of good intentions.

I need a design lead, not just a pair of hands.

I set the direction, align product and dev, and make sure every design decision supports clear business and user outcomes, not just a sprint deadline.

I need an embedded designer, not a vendor.

Part-time or full-time, I integrate with your team, learn your product, users and constraints, and contribute like an in-house designer, without the hiring process.
